We are delighted to announce two distinguished keynote speakers for GOR 2027: Prof. Dr. Katrin Weller and Prof. Dr. Fabian Hemmert. Bringing together perspectives from social science research, data management, technology, and design, their contributions will inspire new ideas and foster engaging discussions across the GOR community.

Prof. Dr. Katrin Weller

Prof. Dr. Katrin Weller is Scientific Director of the Department Data Services for the Social Sciences at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and Professor of Research Data Management at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.

Her interdisciplinary research lies at the intersection of data archiving and computational social science. Her work focuses on digital behavioural data, Open Science, and the challenges of managing and archiving sensitive data from online platforms. Her expertise offers valuable insights into the evolving landscape of research data and the opportunities and challenges it presents for social science research.

Prof. Dr. Fabian Hemmert

Prof. Dr. Fabian Hemmert is Professor of Interface and User Experience Design at the University of Wuppertal. Combining academic expertise with extensive industry experience, he has worked with organisations including Nintendo, Marvel Comics, and Telekom Innovation Labs.

His work explores the intersection of technology, design, and user experience, bringing a practice-oriented perspective to questions of how people interact with digital products and emerging technologies.
